HGS enjoys a very good set of A Level Examination Results

Handsworth Grammar School celebrated another year of stable A Level results. This is testament to the hard work and commitment of both staff and students and is set against the turbulent backdrop of the national picture of the Examination system which has seen fewer A grades awarded this year. The overall pass rate has risen to 99% and 52% of results were A* to B grades prior to when remarks are taken into account.

The vast majority of students were in the strong position of being able to accept their first choice University offer which has seen them being destined for top Universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Imperial and Birmingham.

Some notable performances include Manraj Danda who attained 3 straight A* grades and will be reading Mathematics at Imperial, Donte Nemdhard also attained 3 straight A* grades and will be reading Chemical Engineering at Churchill College, Cambridge University, Gurdeep Mall attained 2 A* and 1 A grade and will be reading French and Law at New College, Oxford University and Allia Mahmood who attained 2 straight A* and 1 A grade and will be reading Education at Birmingham University. Abdurahman Ajmal, Dhanish Amin and Krishan Lawrence all attained 3 straight A grades. At AS Level Jagjeet Sehmi attained 5 straight A grades whilst Arjun Virk, Shirrushtii Appan and Narvair Kahler all attained 4 straight A grades.
