Enrichment

Covering the areas of Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education

Enrichment provides students with the knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to make informed decisions about their lives. It also promotes positive emotional health and well-being to help students to understand and explain their feelings, and build their confidence and emotional resilience and therefore their capacity to learn.

In years 7-11 enrichment is delivered through designated days throughout the year. They are scheduled once a term for a whole day to allow extended projects and ideas to be taught. The days cover all topics required by the National Curriculum, including drugs education, sex and relationships, social education and Citizenship. In many of the topics taught visiting speakers play an important role e.g Big Brum, Blind Dave, Children’s Society, Aquarius.

Each enrichment day throughout the year covers a different aspect of the enrichment agenda.
