b'Music for Youth LAMDAFor the second consecutive year, our Woodwind Ensemble has been invitedCONFIDENT to perform in the Music for Youth Festival. This year more than 50,000 young musicians participated in one of the associated events. HGS Woodwind Ensemble performed two numbers to a large audience at the CBSO Centre.AT SPEAKING The judges were very complimentary of our ensemble and the arrangement. For some of us, this will happen multiple times, and you want to be at your best, for your speech to be heard and to make that speech land with impact.How many of us wish we had had coaching in public speaking skills at school? Then we would have the confidence and the techniques to do it well.The Speech and Drama Lessons offered at Handsworth Grammar School develop skills that our students will be able to take with them on their journey through life. Medals and UCAS points can be obtained from studying Grades 6, 7 or 8 in any subject; here at HGS, we tend to concentrate on the first of these three.
