In Shakespeare Season, classes have learned about Shakespeare play. At form time, students took part in fun activities about Shakespeares plays or life.Studying Shakespeare is important as it can open up students minds about how people used to live in England before modern technology was invented. William Shakespeare was a talented creative writer who was married at 18 and died at 52, making it a very short lifetime for a famous man. He became famous when he died even though there was no technology and communication through the internet. I learned a lot from Shakespeare Season and it was very interesting.Lucas Lin, Year 8Shakespeare Season started in January and lasted about six weeks. Over this period many things happened. A play called Henry V took place in the hall, performed by the Young Shakespeare Company; this involved the audience, which was great, but sometimes it got out of control because people were shouting too loudly towards the end of the play. Then again, it was about the Battle of Agincourt, so maybe thats what they did!The next group visit was a workshop with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust which took place during English lessons. We focused on Henry V and watched some of the scenes, and got to tell the actors to move their legs about or speak up a bit when acting. Henry V is about a king who fights battles in France after being given some tennis balls, which really annoyed him. He motivates his soldiers with speeches with lots of words, telling them not to give up, so he has a good point. Abdullah Ibn Said, Year 7Shakespeare Season was one of a kind, although my passion is not writing or watching plays. At the start you discover Shakespeares birthplace and his origin, then find out about his plays, which include The Tempest and Henry V. We had an amazing experience of the play King Henry V, which included asking questions to an acting person. The Young Shakespeare Company performed the play and included everyone in the audience, rowing a boat or shooting an arrow (not real). We also learned how Shakespeare revolutionised plays from his struggling roots, since no one believed he could write to begin We also had fun with competitions and quizzes about Shakespeare during with, and then everyone thought he was great.form times every week. I would recommend you get involved in it, by looking out for a play and trying it.Dayal Sumal, Year 735'
