TY BARNETT SIGNING FOR WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS FOOTBALL CLUB BADMINTON Both the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Badminton Teams represented the region and finished an impressive third place at the Birmingham School Games Festival. The competition was made up of all the best school badminton teams across the whole of Birmingham. The teams were of such high calibre with some exceptional badminton being played to a county level! Both our teams finished off the season with the U16 retaining their Aston league titles (undefeated in two years!) and the U14 coming runners up in the Aston League (with only 1 defeat!). WOLVERHAMPTON WONDER! I’ve recently signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers and I’m really grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me and hope to reach and exceed all their and my expectations. I come from a footballing background as both my dad and my uncle played professionally. My dad played for his hometown, Birmingham City, and my uncle, Cyrille Regis, played for West Bromwich Albion. He also played internationally representing England many times and was only the third black player to play for England. My dad and my uncle have played a major role in my footballing career so far and both have inspired me to play. As I was growing up I was also inspired by Neymar. I like the way he plays and hope one day to play at the highest level, like he does, in a top European team. Ty Barnett in action for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club 35
