Bridge Trust Society Pictured above: Coast2Coast 2017 participants (top left); Family Fun Day (FC Vets v Wolves All Stars) (top right); Unsung Heroes (middle); and Past Presidents The Society is the main body for former pupils of HGS to join upon leaving the School. It is there for sporting and social reasons but also to create a forum, where friends and colleagues can meet, talk about their life, academic progress and future, not only with their peers, but also to forge bonds with those who have trodden the same pathway, whether it be recently, or a lifetime ago. Within the Society, different clubs enable you to play football and cricket on our superb sports ground in Romilly Avenue. We are very proud of the quality of the ground, recently enhanced by the construction of a new pavilion named after a former pupil and master, Keith Morris. You can also swim and play water polo at the Holly Road Leisure Centre and even play golf, using one of the local courses. Cycling has recently been added to activities undertaken, with an annual Coast2Coast ride, a different geographical challenge being selected each year. Many members use the facilities offered in the Clubhouse for social purposes and as a meeting point. Contact between the School is frequent, School v Old Boys football, Head Boy and Girl speaking at the Society Annual Dinner, Visits to the School for Prize giving and Remberance Day and cricket being played on the Society sports ground by School teams. We would be delighted if current pupils, of any age, with a keen interest in sport, join us, but even for those specialising in more sedentary pursuits there is a place for YOU .
