A world leader and pioneer, they offer exceptional vocational training to talented individuals regardless of their background, educational qualifications or economic circumstances. LAMDA believe in the transformative power of the dramatic arts and the importance and value of drama in society. Great art has the ability to move, challenge and inspire us; it writes the narrative of our lives. LAMDA are committed to encouraging and enabling people from all walks of life to share in this experience. LAMDA Examinations harness all of this and also focus on communication and presentation skills, delivery and clarity of speech, posture, confidence and portrayal of meaning. LAMDA Subjects include Acting (Solo and Duologue), Mime, Devised Drama, Speaking in Public, Speaking Verse and Prose and Reading for Performance. All subjects range from Entry Level up to Grade 8 (A level standard). Medals and UCAS points can be obtained from studying Grades 6, 7 or 8 of any subject. LAMDA Private Tuition has been present at Handsworth Grammar school since October 2014 and has had nothing but success. Each week, an ever-increasing number of students attend their half an hour session and work on performance skills, presentation skills, text analysis, all aspects of vocal training (including breathing, projection, articulation and pronunciation), confidence, relaxation and self- esteem. When the individual student is ready, he/she will attend their examination at Birmingham School of Acting and present their hard work to examiners direct from London.
