FACILITIES 8 Let’s Go Round Again! Recycle, Recycle, Recycle Recycling paper conserves natural resources, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and keeps landfill space free for non-recyclable refuse and so every Tuesday, during registration, 8 Alfred collect the recycling bins from all the classrooms To show our work to the rest of Year 8, we presented our ideas in a form assembly, which gave information on recycling, and showed what happens when you dispose of paper in a recycling bin. We also made posters to show how recycling would make the environment a better place and how 8 Alfred are encouraging teachers to keep a recycling box in their classrooms. Our assembly and posters also show the possible hazards that could be caused if litter is thrown on the ground. We conducted a survey of students and staff to see how much they recycle at home and used this data in our presentation. We want to improve our recycling project in future and our ideas include: placing recycling boxes in outside spaces for students to put their paper into and making more posters listing the disadvantages of littering to encourage students not to litter. 8 Alfred want to give litter another life so that materials will be re-used rather than wasted We want to thank Mr Sangar and Mr Campbell for encouraging and helping us with this project. We also want to thank Mr Bird for also encouraging us by giving us 20 merits each. FACILITIES Let’s Go Round Again! A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF WORK HAS TAKEN PLACE AT THE PLAYING FIELDS RECENTLY IN ORDER TO UPGRADE OUR FACILITIES.
