As many of you may be aware, we have reached the half-way stage of Ramadan this year, a month of forgiveness, kindness and charity for Muslims.
In the spirit of Ramadan, we are looking for donations to provide for those less fortunate in war and poverty-stricken countries, such as Syria and Somalia, where they can’t choose to fast. Whereas we fast from dawn until sunset, Muslims in Syria for example do not have the food to even break their fast.
2 students will be going around forms from this Wednesday to next Tuesday collecting donations. A bucket for donations will also be left inside Ms May’s office during the week if anyone would like to make any further donations.
If you would like to donate a larger sum, please get in touch with either Ms May, Shoaib Muhammad (12JST) or Dr S.N. Bird. All donations will be given to the Red Cross to provide aid and support internationally.
Donations are not exclusive to Muslims. We encourage everyone, regardless of religion and belief, to get involved and donate to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
