KPMG Visit to HGS

Melanie Richards, a partner and the Vice Chair of KPMG spoke to Year 12 and Year 13 students in school on Tuesday November 3rd.

Melanie spoke about her own career path from the world of banking into the senior leadership of one of the leading global accountancy firms. She also brought three of her young trainee accountants to speak to our students about careers at KPMG and in this wider field.

Melanie and her team also gave advice about how to apply to KPMG for their school leavers programme, which certainly interested some students.

Mr Julian Woodcock, Head of Sixth Form reported that the students had been totally engaged in Melanie’s presentation and that it seemed to have made some students think carefully about their future career choices.

Melanie said that she was delighted to visit Handsworth Grammar School and that she had been very pleased to answer so many interesting questions from our students.

We are very grateful to Melanie and her colleagues for making the journey to HGS and for giving their time so freely to speak to our students.
