b'SIXTH FORM FOOTBALLThis has been a very busy season of football for a new team consisting mainly of Year 12 students ably supported by some Year 13s who missed the whole of last season because of the Covid pandemic. As well as a number of cup and friendly fixtures for the first team, we also had a B team fixture for the first time for a number of seasons, and this gave more students the chance to represent the school. Our results in the Aston Cup took us to the final at Boldmere St Michaels ground on Wednesday 6th April, where we played Birmingham Metropolitan College. The college run a very successful football programme and they proved to be very worthy opponents, running out convincing winners 8-2.However, our gallant boys played tremendously well, earning plaudits from the watching spectators and from the opposition coaching staff. We look forward to even more progress next season.Mr ConwayPhotos: Lee Chapman of Chappers Photography.YEAR 7 FOOTBALLA wonderful performance in the Aston Cup Final (6-2 win) meant that the Year 7 football team claimed their third trophy of the season. The whole squad have been exceptional throughout the year and should be very proud of their efforts. As the boys progress to 11-a-side next season, they are certainly a side to watch out for in the future.Aston League WinnerAston Cup Winners34'
