Law CRP

Yr 12 /13 September Law exam
The exam will follow the structure of AQA A level papers-a mix of multiple choice questions, short substantive and non substantive questions, two longer question and one extended question
More specifically
a/Multiple choice 5 x I mark questions-3 non substantive (English Legal System), 2 substantive (criminal law/tort)
b/Shorter answers 4 x 5 marks-2 non substantive (ELS), 2 substantive of which 1 is a scenario
c/Longer questions 1 x 10 marks- substantive scenario
d/Extended question 1 x 25 marks -substantive scenario
Total 60 marks- I hr-a minute a mark!
Note that:
The majority of marks are available for substantive law scenario responses, rather than the ELS
For the 5 and 10 mark scenarios, the question will be directed to a specific part of the offence, so answers will need to concentrate on that part only. For example, the question may give scenario details and asks to explain why def did not commit the a/r of the offence-so the question does not require any discussion of m/r.
For the extended 25 marks question, a full exploration of the offence will be required using the IDEA structure
For criminal law this will require an exploration of a/r and m/r of the particular offence(s) this will involve three aspects-for example, assault on one person, battery on another, s.47 on a third person
For civil, a consideration of all the relevant elements of, for example, negligence, occupier’s liability for lawful visitors and any appropriate defence
